Since your planning on a 4" kit in the future imo just install the bils @ + 2.8 " and put 1.5" TGC rear coil spacers on for now , this setup will retain 1" rake for your measurements.
As far as the uca concern ...if your not doing rough 4 wheeling your oem uca should serve you just fine , if you 4x4 regular & ROUGH & BOUNCY then for peace of mind install the mevotecs uca from rock auto OR just set the bils to + 2.1 " and install a 1" rear TGC spacer to the back .

Here's a link to my bils install with some VERY helpful tidbits imo , also within this link there's a link to my TGC spacers install as well .

http://www.ramforum.com/showthread.php?p=1206420

Hope this helps !

I did see that thread. Thank you. Great write up and I will use it. I like the look and I do go off-road here and there to some bumpy places so I'm leaning towards the ucas. Possibly zone over mevotechs as I heard the mevotechs don't readjust the angle of the ball joint and the zones look a lot beefier

Installed the bils a week ago. Wow is all I can say. The ride is so much better in my opinion. Not exactly stiffer but it just rides smoother and firmer. It's been raining so I took it out for a spin. Set at 2.1 front with a 1" rear spacer

Just for show but the zone UCAs are freaking crazy huge and a lot beefier

Installed my Bils yesterday at 2.8” along with a 1” rear spacer. Still using the stock UCA’s. Probably the best investment I’ve made for this truck. Running a set of 295/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock black 20’s. Love how it sits and rides. May go with a 1.5” rear spacer though. Let me know what you guys think.e6bcdf72e74845cff5ff80d016a42bef.jpg1264c0d0e0c972bb34b9852a86a8fd8c.jpg

I think it looks great as is.

I've had my Bilsteins sitting on the shelf for about a month waiting to install. I work 6 days a week and not having my truck for work is not an option, so i've been putting it off until the cooler months when my business slows down. Never planning on going higher than 2.1" so I wasn't going to do the UCAs but I do go offroad often, so maybe I should get the cheap insurance.

Man it took me about 3 hours to do it all. I am a mechanic though, and have a pretty good selection of tools.

Yep took me about 4 1/2 hrs both sides to + 2.8" , installed new UCA'S and rotated the tires all at the same time .

Like you I'm a mechanic (not automotive )but a mechanic by trade with no shortage of tools

Here mine on stock tires for now. I did it in 3.5hrs in the driveway. Set the bilsteins to 2.8" and install daystar replacement 1" isolators and Bilstein shocks in the rear.

I made a stand for my motion pro motorcycle fork/shock vise to hold the strut for disassembly and reassembly.

Keeping in mind I'm a Non mechanic, slightly mechanically inclined about how long would front and rears take on a lift with a hydraulic spring compressor. We have a DIY garage that charges 30 an hour for tolls and lift just trying to get a guesstimaion.

Im a DIYer myself. Took me 3 hours to do everything with a regular spring compressor. My trucks a 2017 so everything was still fresh and came apart easily. Until I realized I had to take one side back apart because I forgot the washer on the strut. Then following a bunch of words it took me another hour or so to take the side apart and put it back together. Having all the right tools helps a lot. I would try and give 5 yours just for extra time Incase something goes funny. Rear was probably 30 minutes total. Drop the axle down insert the spacer and lift back up.

Bilsteins and KO2's

Just installed my bilsteins on front and rear. Fronts set to 2.1. Added TGC 3/4 inch spacer on the rears. Went with 275/65 KO2's for an extra inch. Pretty happy with the setup with the exception of the ride vibration over 60 mph. Hopefully it's just a bad balance-never had this issue with my other BFG's on my past truck.

Did you get it Aligned? Check your tie rods for play, mine vibrates post 75 mph. because my outer tie rod ends are loose on both side.

Yup, got it aligned when I bought the tires the day after I installed the lift. Everything is tight underneath. The truck has less than 20k miles and has been babied. I am going to take it back in tomorrow to have the balance rechecked on the tires. Wish me luck, lol.

Thanks crazy I'll be putting bills in the rear no spacers, but I'm assuming not to much longer than spacers to install.hopefully a 2014 with some PB blaster stuff comes off smooth

2017 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 5.7 4x4 3.92gears, limited slip, tow pack. UCAs, Bilsteins at 2.8, 17" Method NV wheels, 35x12.5 BFG All Terrain KO2. No rub ever and almost level CV joint/shafts. Rides better than stock. I'm a huge fan of the new BFGs for sure in terms of handling, noise, looks, etc.

I actually have the stock wheels and tires in the back, so this photo is probably not an exact representation of how it really sits. Even at the 2.8 it still almost looks raked even though by measurements it does not.

I'm more of a pre-runner stuffed look so this was a perfect set up for a daily driver that sees some weekend off road duty. I absolutely love this truck. This is my third 4th gen in a row; all three have been white 4x4 crew cabs as well.

Thanks for looking.
