Please, my wife tells me I am crazy. I have a 2012 JK Unlimited awaiting trade. I always liked pick-up trucks, even had a Dakota at one point. I have waiting on my dealers lot a 2016 Ram Sport Crew Hemi 1500 nicely loaded....due to the storm, I have delayed pick up. Anyway, am I one of the few who has the Ram 1500 and plans not to do any big hauling or towing...this is why my wife is not liking me so much...:)

You're not the only one. I use mine but there are a few on here that don't. I like the sport trim.

I've pulled a trailer twice in the 14 months I've owned mine. You're not crazy. Tell her it rides better and is more comfortable than the Jeep. Although, one day I'll probably own a Jeep.

Not crazy at all man. Your not required to use the truck. I rarely use my truck for its intended purposes anymore. The heaviest thing I have hauled in the bed of mine in the past 6 months was a 200lb hydraulic pump for work today. And that will probably be it for another 6 months.

Wait till some of your friends find out that your getting a truck. You will be doing some hauling, or making excuses why you either can't or won't help them. :naughty:

I love my RAM as a daily truck and the only thing have towed was a jet ski or quad in the back

You're not crazy. Even if you only use the bed or tow a few times a year, it's cool.

I use mine often as workhorse for hauling stuff in the bed a lot because I live in the country now but not towing so I got the 6' bed. But after owning this, my 1st pickup, I'll never go back to cars even when the day comes that I'm not hauling stuff around anymore. Unless you have some need for a vehicle that's highly economical on gas, I say go for it if that's what you enjoy driving.

Mine has never seen a trailer, has hauled about 2 loads to the dump, and carries the occasional 4x8 sheet of MDF. The bed is a convenience, it's the space behind the seat I wanted for speakers and the engine bay to make stupid amounts of power.

Who's the bread winner in the family? If money isn't an issue then go for it. She'll get over it.....eventually.

this is why my wife is not liking me so much...:)

Our household has a very clear division of labor. On the wimmins side, there is sammich-making. On the men's side, there is trucks. And NEVER the twain shall mix! :word:

I'm a guy that likes multipurpose tools. Like my truck, I like to have the option of towing, hauling, and having a bed to put things in it. Before my truck almost 4 years ago, I had a charger and it was useful and I fell in love with it. But there where so many times, I needed a truck and didn't have it. I haven't towed anything, but I have used the bed a lot more that I thought I would.

I compare my truck to a work boots. It's always great to have...and it will find a purpose.

I had a Sahara Unlimited. Loved that thing the first year. Taking the hardtop off in the spring for the soft top all summer was sweet. Then on those rare days I took all 4 doors off. Again, super cool.

After the first year......it got tiring. Once the hardtop was off, the soft top was loud. Soft top was a PITA to take up and down. It was my daily, so I would have to take it on long trips. After a while it got to the point that it was annoyingly loud. Even winter with the hardtop, wind noise was loud. I use to keep my radio up only to be tired after a long drive.

I now have 2015 crew. Love it more then the jeep. Thing is super quiet and super smooth on the road. Family is more comfortable in the ram. I also don't use the full extent of the truck. I've hauled mulch first week but after that mostly little things. I don't use it as a truck as much as I should but like knowing it's always there. Also really like towering over most vehicles, it's sweet.

Last time I was in for a oil change, my dealer gave me a 2015 Unlimited Polar Edition. Honestly, at first I was like, damn, I miss the jeep. I kept it all day and as the day went on, I missed my truck more and more. At the end of the day and I was happy with my truck over the jeep.

Just my own personal opinion. If I could afford both it would be a no brainier, loved the jeep but not as a daily I'll keep my truck.

Last though.......Hemi!!

I bought a truck vs suv because it gets similar mpg, rides better& taller, a tonneau cover creates a gigantic trunk and the truck was cheaper than a similarly equipped SUV. Plus a truck is just more fun to drive.

My 2012 CC is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I treat it well, but also use it like a truck when needed. The problem I have is when I do use it to haul anything or tow my trailer, I spend twice as much time cleaning it, which drives my wife crazy. Also, in the 3 years I've had it, there has been zero food in the cab. Even picking up a pizza.....goes right in the bed. OCD I guess.

I bought mine because of all the room in the cab. and the HEMI.
The bonus for me was to be able to haul stuff. Which I've done but nothing extreme. Only thing I towed is a riding lawn mower once.

Was planning on getting a durango hemi but feel in love with this orange.
