Uuuuummmmmmmm...always been a cast iron block and aluminum heads since 03. The issue early on was overheating them and the heads dropping seats or just plain busting valvesprings (which has nothing to do with the aluminum, plus I have my original valvesprings in my 03 at over 150,000 miles).

now if the guy said that the 05 was better for tuning I think he would have been correct lol
03 has separate ECM and TCM, no support and very little tunability. In 04 they combined them into one PCM which gave better engine tunability but trans not so much. 05 was further refined and is arguably the best year for tuning both engine and trans wise.
