Hey guys I just read a build and testing article on crutchfield.com with an F150 that is pretty interesting. It helps kinda put into perspective as what gains you can get out of your stereo if you are just looking at replacing speakers or doing the whole system.

Does it make a difference if I tap into the front speakers instead of the rear? Is there anyway I could tap into the sub from the stock alpine system?

If you already have the factory 'alpine' sub those wires would be the best ones to tap for an aftermarket amp and sub. That is exactly what I am doing in mine.

Just going to throw this out here, I used to do 12 volt installs for 10 years. If anyone has any questions or needs some advice, I'd be happy to help. Shoot me a PM. I'll keep my eyes on the board topics and input where I can as well.

Question...can someone add a write up for installing an aftermarket backup camera? Speakers and head unit are listed but I'm just about ready to install a after market backup camera, and I figured out 90% of it...only question is where to plug in the backup signal to send to the camera to let you know the car is in reverse and to turn on the camera.

    Couple of questions:

do you have the stock radio still or have you changed that out?
If stock, what harness did you use?

I'll be putting an aftermarket back up cam in my 2012 in the next couple of weeks, so I can through something together then.

I have an aftermarket DVD pioneer radio. You can always power the camera by tapping into the reverse brake light or the 7 pin tow harness, but I want to try and do it right on where I wire the power as well as the signal reverse wire so it sends a signal to the camera that its on reverse and turns it on.
