I just moved to Alberta Canada, and I am told I will need a block heater here. I bought a 2013 sxt Ram QC Hemi, and according to the window sticker it has a block heater installed. I have looked around but not found a cord for the block heater attached to the vehicle. Anyone who knows where it is attached or where to find it would be great!

Open the hood and look on the left side of the hood latch. Should be tucked in one of the holes. That's where mine was.

I'm tempted to put a block heater on mine.
Just to make the winter starts a bit easier.

Though I rarely used the one on my '00.

You'll be okay, the cold out here is a dry cold, and Calgary gets it's share of Chinooks (Snow Eaters as the Indians used to call them)

Do an oilpan heater White, easier then putting a block heater in,and also more effective.
I have oilpan heaters on my daily drivers, and very seldom use the block heater.
They're also cheaper to run then a block heater
It's the thick cold oil that makes them hard to start, not the cold engine block

^^^YUP.

+1 on the oil heater. Reminds me of needing to install one actually. (not on the ram, but the DD)

Can you elaborate on the oilpan heater? What kind? How it installs? Why it's cheaper than a block heater?

Thanks
