Hi, so I'm looking to buy a 2004 Ram, the one that I'm serious about comes on 35's with a rough country lift. I can't remember if it's 3 or 4"'s. So my boat/ trailer weighs approx 5300lbs. I only need to haul it 12 min twice per year. That said, my main concisely pulling it up out of the water at the 45° angle on those tow reducing tires. Is this a sure bet for breaking drivetrain parts? Or is it pretty safe? Thanks

The second part of your answer is more reassuring than the first ;) any others with actual similar set ups and advice or comments? I'd appreciate a few to convince me ( thanks Sandman)

Make certain you wear your floatys . Put it in 4 wheel low to reduce stress on everything. You will be fine. Take pics if you sink it .JK.

You didn't mention whether it had 4WD or not, but assuming it does and it's a 1500 just do like DAW14 suggested--4WD low range and you'll be fine. I've done much worse than that with the same vintage 1500 and nothing ever broke or even acted up.

Not the same but I pulled my fathers boat up the ramp just fine. Put it in 4hi to pull up the ramp. Mine has (3.92) towing gears though and the newer 8 speed transmission. 4low would be your best friend. If it does not have 4wd I would buy a different truck.

Using 4 Low will work to help pull the boat up the ramp just don't turn the steering wheel to hard.
There's a 2WD Low unlock module available for the Gen4 trucks, haven't seen anything for the Gen3. (module engages transfer case low range but doesn't lock in the front wheels).
