Alright, so the .5 HL v2 is probably what I will go with.

Does this use factory springs and rids or am I going to have to buy that stupid expensive tool and do the springs and all that jazz?

It is a high lift cam.

So if I'm reading it right Jay's .5 HL will allow both VVT and MDS to remain untouched or is an MDS delete required. I'm pretty much in the same boat as the OP with occasional towing. I have a 2015 cc Outdoorsman with 3.92 gears. Planning on long tubes and the cam swap for some extra grunt. Not likely to exceed 5500 rpm. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks C.H.

I think his .5 cam is ground as a non-mds cam,but you can ask him just to be sure.It allows VVT though

I should update..... I went with the TSP stage 2 cam(Hellcat lifters/TSP springs/rods) not stage 3. I have the 2800-3000 stall converter to go with it. Mr TSP says this is the best setup for my truck with its current mod list. I do have the rebuilt and upgraded 5 speed/456 gears, 35” tires. Still waiting on the cam and TC.
