If they were shorties you could leave em on but you have long tubes, gaskets bolts and all to pull heads you can buy a crane cams tool (its a new one that just came out).

Then you shouldn't have any concerns about breaking bolts...

guess it's just about how you put the headers on. mine will come off with the head, so no new gasket needed there, they come off in one piece. Just another option.

That crane tool looks great but IMO expensive at $126.

I agree when I was looking for one of these tools I couldn't justify spending that kinda money on something if only ever use 1 or 2 times.

My grandpa and I ended just using some scrap steel from around the shop and building one ourselves. It looks crooked as hell but it worked alright for my spring swap. And all it cost me was about an hour worth of time trying to make it fit good enough to work for 16 springs.

Here's a pic of the one I made (sorry it's not the best pic but its all I've got right now)

If your just doing a cam why take the heads off? I'm not super knowledgable about engine work but looking back on my swap it really wasn't bad at all w/ the heads still on, but I was also lucky an had access to the miller tool

LTKR isnt bad but STKR in large amount and number can cause some serious damage if not caught. Your vehicle will pull timing automatically when it detects to much STKR and ******* the timing which hurts your overall power. It's really for tuning purposes but is a good thing to monitor after lt headers or cam.
