Cammed 4th gens

Who out there has cammed their 4th gen? In my research I can't find a 4th gen that really benefited from an aftermarket cam. Yes, there have been a dyno sheet or two but real world results (I.E. track times) I'm not seeing

Some decent results on the LX side of things when it comes to track times, but haven't heard from anyone on the truck side. The biggest trouble is to run a large cam that will make a difference you need to lock the cam phaser, or install new pistons with a bigger valve relief.

I picked up about .3 tenths with the 6.4 cam running on my 24's. Went from 14.99 down to 14.75

Not bad. Who did the tuning for the cam?

It was done by hemifever. Their are parts of the tune that still needs work.

It's running really rich while at WOT and when the truck is cold it will stall when braking or turning unless you drive slow for a few miles. I believe it's called the ramp down speed is what needs adjusting.

Nope. He is already at the max of his tuning parameters for this. I am going to have to switch to mike at ost. He says he can cure all my issues

That is the same problem that was in the other 35 page thread. I think I read they were able to tune it out eventually. But that was Arrington with many, many, many... hours of tuning on that truck.

Yeah, with the ******** tuning issues, I'm just not sold on camming this truck.

I agree this has not been as easy as it was advertised in the beginning but with you being near After hours performance they are a lot better in the tuning process and you may have a better experience.

Truck sounds good man! Definitely can hear the difference at idle with that cam.

Yea I know. I modeled my install after yours. For a while it ran fine on a canned tune with no surging or anything. Then one day it just started to act crazy after I tried to get the surging tuned out of the custom tunes. It does great after its warmed up and the issues are none existent when you drive like a normal person. I just personally know it's not 100% and that's what I am looking for

Well it's it's running real rich I would say it isn't anywhere near 100%

Did you use the Auto W/ MDS cam or the manual trans cam?

Auto they only difference is I did the comp push rods
