If you want, the 2500 is available with the I6 cummins thats been around for decades. Emissions system components have plagued all current diesel pickups, however, regardless of manufacture. Some more than others. Tractor rigs are also plagued.

The problem with the 2500 is the Aus government granted import rights toa single company here making them cost 150-180K AUD.....not worth it IMO

If the calculator I used is right, that's $135,171.00 US on the high end! That's free trade at work right there. That's about $58,000.00 over the cost of a high end model if purchased here.

Auseco, you are wrong.

You can buy a new 1500 through the official ram importer.
They are not factory RHD but factory backed conversions. They are sent as an export package without the LHD parts.

With the cost of conversion, import duty, luxury car tax GST etc. A ram 2500 with Cummins , Laramie trim is au 129000.

Same model in states is around 70k USD.

The 1500 is around 100k au here.

You can even build one online for export, they are all made in Mexico.

By comparison a Jeep SRT8 is 100k and a Toyota LandCruiser Sahara is around 120k here, both are factory RHD.
