It is probably your MDS kicking in (Cylinder deactivation) turn that off and see if the sound you don't like goes away.I suppose raspy wasn't the correct word. It just has a lot more sound in the midrange than I like. It sounds awesome just quite a bit louder than I was expecting from all the sound clips I listened to. I must be getting old. Thanks for your input.
To turn it off just push the gear selector button on the steering wheel down, then put up all the way to 8.
I have been doing that the last few days, sounds much more consistent and I haven't noticed a drop in mpg.
