this really has me thinking, i have my replacement motor for my black 03 coming this weekend, and i have ton of spare engine parts laying around including manifolds, i may have to dig one out and try this :superhack:

It’s a fun little project, but I really couldn’t figure out a good way to trim the plastic. I used a dremel and any attachment I could think of but most of them just ended up burning their way through the plastic. Just go as carefully as you possibly can, the fewer dents and cuts to fix the better.

If I had to do it over again I wouldn’t shave off behind the throttle body. You really can’t see it when it’s installed and it’s almost impossible to make it look nice.

Haha I may hit you up to get some ideas when I do the headlights. I’m still deciding how crazy I want to go with them.

Same here. I saw a few good ideas that all inspired me, and I want to do a collaboration of all of them. I thought it'd be like $400 to get it done with Retroshop, at most, but damn. More like $1000,and none of the stuff I want is even an option on the website.

Currently have some LKQ 06 buckets that I pulled sitting in my garage in need of a restore. Also got the grill. Mom says I should snag the fenders, too, even though they're red and I have a patriot blue truck.

What do you guys think? Grab em or no? Small ding on one, likely removed with a ballpeen from the other side. Should I just grab the good one and wait for another truck to show up to get the other side?

I say go for it. Try car-part.com, it’s a database of junkyards, you can put in the fenders and see if anyone around you has them listed

I made these for my red truck, now that it has its new wheels, it may be time to start doing a bunch installing of parts i have laying around...

Full satin black paint, red halos, full projector retrofit, everything inside was changed

That looks sweet. This is more what I’m thinking

Just using the dark red color I’ve been using, and painting the actual reflector bowls red also. I’m debating about demon eyes or halo rings.

Well you better hurry up so I can see them lol
My lights will be arriving in a few days so I’ll start on them very soon. I’m debating about painting the fenders myself or dropping them off at a spray shop. I can paint them I just don’t feel doing the work. But hopefully this front end swap is done very soon

Same with mine. Gonna go to LKQ this weekend and hope that red one is still intact.

Now all I need is the Laramie bumper, and SRT/Venom hood. And SRT rear bumper as well as side body cladding.

Edit:: You guys want me to use MS paint to give you an idea of what I wanna do with my headlights?

Hey, Chris. Whats the red color that you've been using for your intakes and such? Curious about applying it to parts of my truck. It looks really good. :)

I’ll have to find the can of paint when I get home. It’s just the dupliculor spray cans from autozone, I’ll post up when I find it. Hope I still have it, cause I forget the name and I need more haha

Lol. Yeah. I like that slight purpleish look and how it's a nice deep dark red rather than that bright pukey crap they painted 3rd gens with. Nice maroon-burgundy color!

Yeah my first car was a dark red Impala, close to the same color. I loved the color, had the car for over 6 years. When it died I got my truck f7f42e79b35d8746002b3d59ab1e4296.jpg

New lights are in, gonna get them open soon and decide what to paint. Do the 06 lights only have an up/down adjustment? The eBay ones I got only have one adjustment bolt. Kinda sucks because my old lights had side to side as well. That really helped aiming the projectors

I’m sure you would have noticed it when you were working on the lights if it was there. And good luck with the sonnax!
