I will tell you from my years of experience in a body shop and any professional will back up this statement, you do not want to paint chrome, even with the best prep work it will start flaking off, bedliner is different and so is plasti-dip, with bedliner you basically grind into the chrome and it doesn't matter what imperfections you create because the bedliner fill them in, plasti-dip is like a big sticker and thats why it works so well too, paint is different, you want to have a smooth surface and if you do that with chrome it makes a weak bond, it will stick for a while but its just a matter of when till it starts to flake off, some people get lucky and have it last for a while, but once that first chip happens, its all over
