So back in February I replaced all my intake manifold gaskets as I had a leak appear on the passenger side rear of the manifold oil kept pooling around cyl 8 injector and the intake manifold bolt in the corner..well it came back and I got some good pics today

Does it look like a crack or something else... I've replaced the pcv thinking too much pressure build up,its not valve covers.. I run a catch can as well and it collects as normal
Any ideas or help... I'd love to get the 6.4 manifold but in Canada its a pricey piece compared to the states 995dd74333901b3c986b4cb6bf88664e.jpg209eca494c00fa67d471f88b29366791.jpgefc126d4a2a585aabec44d57088a12d9.jpg

You have a crack for sure! That last injector is crazy dirty! I would pull the manifold asap.

Ya I have a spare of a motor I picked up down south so ill be swapping manifolds for now with the other 5.7 one.... the srv actuator on that one is abit hammered so I should be able to swap it over no issues right? And I cleaned injector when I pulled it i was pretty unhappy trucks only got 93k on it...

Yeah just swap everything to new manifold and you should be good.

I'm just wondering about the nub from the actuator if it just falls into place inside the manifold for the variable runner set up or does it have to be positioned in a certain way or if the computer takes over once its plugged in... hopefully I'm just overthinking it... i have the 6.4 harness extension coming to make life easier this time even though I'm still just using the 5.7 intake atm... but further down the road will upgrsde

My 2009 charger has a very similar leak. Its pooling oil around the left front corner of the intake. i never considered that the intake manifold could be cracked.

Ya I was abit suprised too... my 2010 went to 265 k km without an intake gasket leak or crack... this trucks a 16 with 93k on it... pretty passed but it is what it is... does yours make like a metal vaccum type noise under acceleration? I thought exhaust manifold so I did gaskets and bolts and it didn't resolve the issue so thags all I can think is the cause...

Spray around the crack with some starting fluid while it's running,if it revs up,it's leaking air into the intake, and could cause a whistle type noise under acceleration

I've tried spraying anything I figured would work ... tried propane even... and nothing thays where I'm absolutely stumped.... its not from the map sensor located or SRV.... when I swap manifolds do you know if that srv valve will just lock into place since I have to swap from my current manifold to the one I'm replacing with?

That i couldn't tell,as i'm still running the stock 5.7 manifold.Go onto High Performance Rams or Tuned Rams on facebook, there's a number of guys who've done the 6.4 manifold swap, and will know more then i do about the swap.Tach Tech or CrazyKid might be able to answer your questions on here, but if you're trying to build reliable power, you'll find more info on the facebook pages then here.

Well currently I'm just swapping another 5.7 manifold in place as I have a spare at my brother's but the srv is abit messed up so I was going to pull mine off my manifold put it in the new one till I can get a 6 4 manifold In canada thats not ridiculously priced... if exchange wasnt so bad id just go through moes....

Yes the srv swaps over. The 5.7 srv has a metal plug on it that you have to pull off. The srv in the 6.4 does not have that plug. My srv on the 6.4 came broke. So had to swap over.

Plug on the inside? Where the actuator is ... if I'm just swapping into another 5 7 manifold I won't need to take it off correct

Correct yes. It’s not exactly a plug. Looks more like an adapter. It’s on the end of the servo itself where it connects to the actually piece of the manifold.
