Cruise control 2014 Dodge Ram 1500

Hello, I have a question regarding my Ram. My cruise control does not work 99 percent of the time. When it does want to work it has to be as soon as I start my truck and it has to be 100 degrees outside. If I don’t use it right away it’ll shut off and not come back on.

Cruise control is controlled through the computer. It’s possible your buttons are acting up and may need to swap them out. It’s a known failure point at this point. Mine acts up sometimes and if I smack the steering wheel, behind where the cruise control button is, I can usually get it to work

Ditto, when I had a 2014 the clock spring failed. I did switch out the buttons but that did not fix it and then traded the truck before getting around fixing it.

I just went through issues with my buttons and horn not working.
Turned out to be a clock spring and right sight side button on steering wheel.
BUT on mine, cruise was only thing working.
Seems the right side buttons are the main ones that work everything, so dealership said.

Hi. Clock spring?? Havent heard this before. Any advice please as i have changed everything so far and no joy.

Find a YouTube video on replacing it. It's not that hard. I had my steering wheel off so I could add stereo controls.

Do yourself a favor and buy an air bag removal tool like this.

There was a recall for cruise control for 2014 1500's. I forget the details, but you may want to check it out.

Ive had issues like that before need to work the contoler buttons & wtah if you auto start that can ause some issues, eventually it comes back on if your persistent
