cruise control stopped working

Has anybody had an issue with turning on there cc mine stopped working yesterday, figures after my warranty was just up

Is there a fuse for the cruise control? I can't find nothing this is really startin to **** me off I use cruise everyday 2 times a day driving an hour to work wtf this is freakin stupid

Try resetting the electrical system. Just disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. I had mine stop working once when the "change oil" message appeared on my EVIC.

SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spoke to soon, it worked this morning but after work it was gone, Haaaaaaa why this truck gotta freakin do this **** right after the bumper to bumper warranty goes out, I called the dealer just awhile ago and hell they said it would cost $105 to just run diagnostics on it, wtf

Need to pull codes to see what is up with it. I have replaced a few of the switches though.

Fast start may be the cause cruise control to fail.

My cruise control didn't work yesterday on the way to work. I checked the fuse (F82) and it was fine. This truck only has 1,800 miles on it, so I don't think the wiring would be flaking out yet. The cruise control worked on the way home and this morning. The only thing I may have done differently yesterday morning was that I rushed the start-up going quickly from "off" to "start". This is a Cummins 6.7 with a manual transmission. It has a key instead of a push button for the ignition. The owners manual suggests waiting in "on" position until the manifold heater and water-in-fuel lights go out before moving to the "start" position.
Based on some the intermittent issues mentioned in this thread, I suspect that a software/timing issue in the ECM may prevent it from detecting the cruise control feature when it is "rushed". I will try to recreate the issue, but I suggest trying to stop and restart the truck a little slower if the cruise stops working again.

check your brake fluid level. you can also have any auto parts store scan for codes for free to see if theres anything there.

I've had the same problem with turning on my cruise control. It's happened several times and when it does happen, if I wait a little while and try it again it will come on. Less than 5,000 miles on a 2014 1500.
I wonder how may others are experiencing this issue, this thread tells me I'm not alone here.

Take it to a dealer so they can pull codes and will likely be able to feel you why.

Ask the dealer to check the wheel clock spring. My daughters car had a cruise issue and the dealer swapped the clock spring and it has been fine ever since.

Mine did the same thing. They replaced the switch. So far so good. Seems like these 2500's go bad a piece at a time. My trucks been to the shop so many times in the 6 months I've owned it....I can send it by itself.....and it knows it's own way there.

Mine does this, too. Talked to my buddy that is a tech, and he said they keep the switches in stock for that reason. He said it's a pretty common problem. Getting mine done Monday.

I took mine to the dealer a couple weeks ago but it was workin at the time they had it so they couldn't do nothing, I'm just gonna replace the switch, others on other forums said it seems to work after the switch gets replaced, it almost looks like u can't take the switch out of steering wheel looks like it's made n there, I sure don't want to brake it but wanna do it myself, my warranty's up

mine did it today twice so far.. seems like once I break 85mph it stops working.. I pull over shut the truck off, start it back up and is good to go until I break 85 again.. ******* annoying especially since I am traveling from Cali to arizona today.. I -40 sucks with out cruise control.

Mine stopped working. Fuse is number 82 I think under hood. But dealer replaced the cruise switch/sensor. Now it's all good.
