I know on my 2011 the left one is my 4x4 switch, the right console is 120v plug.
I'm assuming you didn't get some options that would fill those spots.

Yeah, in the 2009-2013 model years with the six speed, that left one is the 4x4 knob, if its a 4x4 truck. In the 2013-present eight speed trucks, it is the gear selector dial and 4x4 buttons below it (if its a 4x4).

The other two cubbies are there no matter what trim you have, even if you get a Laramie Limited with all the options.

So what are you using them for? They seem pretty useless to me. Sunglasses stick out too far.

There are so many cubby/storage locations in this truck compared to the 2010 Dakota that I traded in, I don't have a use for them all yet, including those little cubbies.

Yea I don't use them either. They realy aren't big enough to hold anything substantial and if you do put anything in them its hard to fish it back out....

I have a leatherman in one. Nothing else really fits. Someone on here used one as a switch location

One has a small multi tool in it that fits perfect and the other is to far on the passenger side for me to worry about.

I have an EZPass Go in the one to the right of the radio, and my wife keeps a small bottle of hand sanitizer in the passenger one.

I like the zombie response switch, would like to fill the hole just for the fun of it.

I keep my trusty old flip-open dumb-phone in one.

(People used to think belt buckles were large in TX,,, That was before the 'license-plate' sized smart phones most folks lug around nowadays!!! LMAO!!)

On the HD trucks there is no shifter knob on the dash so there is a hole regardless, I assume this applies to 6 speed 1500's as well. It is above the 4x4 switch which is a blank in 4x2 trucks. On the right there is a cubby above the 120v power outlet regardless of trim as on my 1500 Laramie. I use it for my sunglasses but they stick out about 25%.
