Well bought a 2018 Ram 2500 6.4L on may 26th. Noticed a whistling noise coming from passenger side at 40mph and above almost like a window is barely down or something. Made sure all windows where up still getting noise. If I turn on the blower about 5 seconds later it stops turn it off an 5 seconds later it’s back. Brought it to the dealer they said they fixed it. I get on the interstate headed home and it’s still making the noise... not sure how to deal with the dealer ship. Had my 2011 tundra 7 years and never Had to bring it to dealership. How do I handle this.

They fixed it?

Bring it back? Maybe the fix they did needs fixing again?

Id specifically ask them what they did to solve the problem the first time.

Then take them for a test drive, if the service writer cant write down what you are stating, ask to go on the test drive with the tech that will be working on your vehicle.

He maybe wrote down incorrect information where the tech could not duplicate the issue or was told some random issue that he believed he did correct it but failed again.

Had a similar issue, turned out the windshield was missing about a foot of glue on the left hand side. Tech said it is a common occurrence. How the F does that get missed?

So it ended up being the windshield? Same type of noise as mine?

It was a whistle noise that would get louder as I drove faster, and it also depends which side the wind was blowing on you could hear it more.

Sounds very very similar. Hopefully that’s all it is. Would yours stop though if you played with blower?

Can't remember, was 4 years ago with my 2014 Ram. Or you could be drowning out the noise with the blower.

I only turn the blower on to like the first setting doesn’t make much noise at all. Thanks for the info. It would make sense for it to be that I would think. Other thing I had heard was something with the blower unit behind the glove boxes and the flap on the door not sealing or something.

On my 2018, if I have one of the vents closed, the blower fan makes a whistling noise which I believe it's because of the back pressure due to the closed vent. If I open the vent, the whistling goes away.

My truck makes some wind noise on the highway as well. It's coming from the door window seals. If I just tap the window down button, and I mean tap to the point where the window moves maybe 1/8 inch down but is still closed, the wind noise stops. It was the same on my '13 as it is on my '17.

Design flaw if you ask me. Probably different on your 2500's though.

Hi Rmcameron89,
We would be more than happy to offer an additional layer of assistance should you need it at your dealer. You can also suggest a ride along with a technician so you can point out exactly when and where you hear the noise coming from. If you would like our support, just send us a private message with additional details.
