Read further back, there is a Mopar part that fits our trucks, someone in the thread installed it, the trucks already set up for it, you have to remove the taillight for the mounts.
I’m pretty sure the mounts are on every model, otherwise they would have put the dampener in there in the first place.

The binding only happens if the cable goes left instead of right and it can get caught between the wall of the truck and the dee zee piston. Apparently I didnt read instructions well enough because the simple solution that apparently is in there is just to bend the top end of the cable so the cable goes right everytime. I just did it myself tonight, works dandy.
True but if there’s a oem part and ur only taking the tail light off maybe I should do that.
You are missing the point. You don't have the factory option under the tail light. It only started with the 2019 trucks.
