Door Chime On without Key in or Lights on

My door chime turns on every time the driver's door is open, regardless of no lights on and key out of the ignition. I have seen several threads about simply turning off the chime but I believe something isn't working properly and instead of ignoring it, I would like to fix it. My only idea is that it is some kind of sensor contact on the ignition switch, however, I just replaced that a few months ago and haven't had any issues until now.

Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well for now disconnecting the battery for an hour seemed to do it. Hopefully this helps someone else in the future.

The ding has returned. Didn't do anything differently, just took the key out of ignition while door was open and the dinging did not stop until the door was shut.
