I bought a Pioneer AVIC - X930BT.
from Sonix Electronics.

They said this radio ( a DD ) would fit no problem in my truck.

I go to take off the factory radio and the pioneer doesnt fit.. nor does the install kit for the new radio....

I call them and they said I have to buy a navigation bezel and cut 2-5 mm's off the top portion of the radio hole to make it fit...

any info on this will be AWESOME... cause i know a few here have pioneer AVICs :Grenade:

I have that exact same one, and love it! But I don't know about the new trucks.

Mine needed two layers of a trim kit to fit, the bezel was way too big. How close it is to fitting?

DD's are tricky, I bought one for my truck and still had to cut out a decent size of plastic to get it to fit.

the bezel is fine... its the underneath that needs to be trimmed... im not sure cutting left and right like the DIY will do...

the metal like the DIY post will be removed like it but no the plastic... the sides are fine for fitment its the very top between the two top screws of radio mount.

Tomorrow i will try at it again and i bought pliers and wire cutters to get the necessary cutting done.

fyi: i will take pics of the surgery or the attempt

The only troubles I've ever had is the metal support for the factory radio. It's the same thing on Journeys, Wranglers, Rams etc etc. All of the new Chryslers that take the new double din kit
