Just FYI, there is plenty of room back there without any need to touch the active shutters. Since I purchased my truck new I have been told you can't do it without modding the shutters. My tape measure told me otherwise so I did it. Started with some Hella 500's that didn't impress me at all. As in I couldn't even tell they were on. (I should have known better. I had a few sets on a Jeep years ago that didn't do much.)

Changed to a few different LED setups before I came to my final version last night. Don't even need to drill holes for any of this. All holes already present.

I have been throwing around the idea of mounting LED lights behind my same grille. But i want the lights to be more hidden. There has to be something we can mount in frint of the lights behind the grille to hide them more. Like a black screen or something.

get black housing lights, hella used to make a blackout off road light that was almost black when off, i knew alot of ram guys that used to run them and they were almost invisible when off behind the grill

I mounted mine behind the shutters on the lower raised metal brace of the core support. Being deeper inside they aren’t as visible and mine are amber. I mounted cube lights and they don’t interfere with the shutters at all. As Demon said, mine are the RC black series, rigid also makes a midnight series.

I take some pics this weekend

I would definitely look at the black housing lights. Or if you're handy enough, take the lights apart and spray the housing black but leave the reflective cups chrome.
The screen would indeed hide the lights better but would also take away some of your lighting too.

I hung mine upsided down on middle horizontal brace. Used push pin holes on 1 side and enlarged other side

So what lights did you end up with?

They are just some cheap Amazon LED lights. Nothing special or great but enough to add some light. With HID headlights and fogs I have plenty of light but a little more on the dark country roads I live on help. This was also a bit of a "proof of concept" for me. Now that I know it works and found the "look" I like I'll probably invest in some quality name brand units of similar design.

On mine I had no choice but to remove my shutters as mine sit right where the shutters did/do. Here's a picture of my toggle switches. The bottom one is for the light bar that I'm going to install into the lower bumper space.

Looks great, but i would have thought that mesh grille would have hidden the light better. There has got to be a different finer mesh we could put behind the grille to hide them better. Like a black screen maybe.
Yeah that would be better for sure
