So, an update here. My truck has now sat on the dealers lot for 6 weeks. Last Friday, I was told that the compressor had arrived! Yea!!! They also confirmed that this was indeed the part for my truck. The following Wednesday, I of course heard nothing from the dealership, so I emailed FCA to get a status update. Here was her response:
Vehicle Description: RAM 1500 REBEL 4X4
Donnie, I apologize for the delay. I was out of office due to a family emergency. I spoke to with the dealership today. I am sorry to say the vehicle is not complete. There has been a mix up with the part. The dealerships parts system glitched on Friday. The part is not in just yet. Donnie I will continue to work on this for you. Thank you so very much for your patience. Again I am very sorry.
So I responded that I have had enough of this runaround, and that I would be sending a required certified letter to FCA with my 10 day demand to resolve prior to filing a Lemon Law suite. She then called me today. I asked her what exactly the "glitch" was at the dealership. Her response to that was "Well, there is a new employee in the service department. That employee didn't know that it was for your truck, and it was installed on someone else's."
Obviously, this didn't sit well with me . I then asked why no one can tell me where the part for my truck is, and when to expect it. She then said "Well, it could be like if it was on a ship and the ship sank". I'm not kidding. I burst into laughter at the absurdity of this explanation. She was silent as I tried to gather myself back up. I said "Are you kidding me?? That's the example you're going to use??" She said "Well, I did say that is what happened, just that something like this may have happened. Maybe it was on a truck that crashed or something." Yeah, or maybe my part was abducted by aliens... (I didn't say that to her, just sayin'...)
I then advised that I was sending off the certified letter, and that they have 10 days to either replace my truck, or refund my money paid for it. (Which I did)
The saga continues.....
