Looking for the answer from you experienced guys.....So how long between fuel filter changes? Do you change it just on mileage? or does it depend on how much towing gets done between changes?

I don't have an answer for you, sorry, but you certainly raise an interesting issue with gallons of fuel used versus miles travelled.

I have always based mine of where I got my diesel at: Large Truck stops with ALOT of diesel traffic.
Compared to small Mom/Pop gas stations with very little diesel traffic.

Difference being: In my opinion -->Fresh - Higher Quality Diesel @ the Truck stops.

Then I went off of Mileage of course: In my 01 F250 7.3L PSD I changed the fuel filter about every other oil change around 10K-15K miles.

At the time I sold her: She had 296K miles on her with NEVER an fuel system issue!
At the time of Filter change: The filter itself was still in great shape and looked to be still pretty clean.

Yes I did use RL and Stanadyne fuel additive with almost every fill up.

I will probably do the same regiment with my new 6.7L.
I will use nothing but Mopar/Fleetguard fuel filters along with a Diesel Fuel Additive.

I go by the EVIC gauge.
Mine went about 11,000 miles and said it was about 15% time left for oil change.

Here is what 15k looks like for S&Gs. Also MOPAR(old) vs Fleetguard(new). The at 14K itEVIC (IIRC) said replace as it hit 15K.
