wendy, when you put new tie rod ends on, do you need and allignment? I just had the dealer put on 2 new from wheel bearings for $760. they told me they wanted to do the tie rods cause they looked rusty?? for the low low price of 260..............yeah ok.....i have 98k miles near the ocean, they dont squeak and their tight. but lookin into future replacement, if its a part on part off deal, or will its screw with my allignment...

Yep, you will need an alignment. The dealer wanted 240 to replace the tie rod, but since my husband can do it, it will save me money plus be a learning experience for me.

I have a gajillion yards of line left LOL

yeah, that tie rod costs 50 bucks. I'm sure the dealer was charging me 3 times that LOL

Funny thing is that's what James kinda told me today. He goes, if you're wanting to put a lift on it, now would be the time to do it. LOL

I would like to but I don't need to spend the money on that right now.

How much of a body lift can be done before steering, driveshafts, etc have to be adjusted? I have a lifetime powertrain warranty so I don't want to compromise any of those components.

body lifts don't affect drive shafts. A 3" body lift would come with everything thing you need

Well, went to O'Reillys to pick my stuff up and James takes one look at the shock and is like, that's not what we need. We actually needed the strut. So, he is going to talk to the body shop tomorrow and get their opinion on what is wrong, and if it is in fact the struts, we'll get them ordered.
