grille inserts

Anyone have any pics of black billet grille inserts on their trucks. Been looking for some but all I find are overlays.

I found the same garbage on ebay man. They make it look like its a replacement but if you look really close you can see the honeycomb grille behind it. Sneaky fellows they are. You could always get a chrome billet one from mopar and powerder coat it or paint it or plastidip it.

I've been tempted by some of the ebay overlays.
I want the typical silver faced billet inserts (at least for now).

My issue is no one clearly shows how the bumper grill mounts. I don't want to remove my solid plastic piece, I want to try and keep the truck as aerodynamic as this brick can get!

Ultimately I'd like it sprayed with the face of the grill lime green and the rest black, but that's show truck time, and I'm NOT there yet.

I'd like one of the mesh styled grills for my 2500, like the ones made by Royalty Core, RBP, BMF, ect. I'd actually prefer any overlay. The problem with the cutouts is that you can clearly see your radiator, condenser, oil cooler, etc when looking directly at the truck. With an overlay, you can see the remains of the OEM grill but in my opinion it's not as noticeable. My other problems with the big name mesh grill inserts is that they seem to be really, really overpriced for what you get. Anyone make a reasonably priced overlay that covers the entire center portion of the grill?

I got the 2013 1500 and it came with the black honeycomb inserts. I am looking to replace them with oem chrome billet or preferably the chrome honeycombs. Anyone looking for trades?

Never mind, I ordered in the chrome cheese graters and I got to install them today.



I got these ordered in from the parts desk at the dealership. Took a bit of effort to find the part numbers as this is very new product.
I was very pleased to see that they came with pictured instructions and a tools list so that even a guy without much auto background like me can change them out in under an hour.

These are the black honeycomb inserts I removed from my 2013 Ram 1500. They come as two pieces left and right. Fairly easy to swap in and out.

Did you remove your inserts before you applied plasti dip or did you leave them in and apply?

I removed them just for ease of the job. Took a few minutes to take out so worth it
