Are there any dyno numbers from Stainless or anyone who has already installed them? And any runs for most of us "near stock" guys to see the difference in HP and TQ between the 2 different size primaries?
The Stainless Works headers with 1 3/4" primaries will dyno very similarly to other headers of similar quality with 1 3/4" primaries. These headers have not gone into production yet as such we don't have actual dyno numbers other than estimates of other 1 3/4" primary Ram headers that have spent a lot of time on the dyno. That's one of the reasons for this group buy, we listened to the feedback of members who felt more comfortable with the 1 3/4" based on the available data at this time. I just sold a set of 1 7/8" headers last night to a forum member so we're hoping for feedback and maybe dyno results after the first of the year
Lastly, sorry for the dumb question...but on the coatings does the Polish finish just mean they shined up the piping and no heat benefits? and thermal coating would be similar to a jet hot type coating?
They offer "polished finish" coating and also their "Black Out" thermal coating but I would have to ask about the availability of the black coating on this production run. http://www.stainlessworks.net/blackout/
Edit: Black Out coating is available on this production run per Stainless Works.
And lastly, anyone out there done longtube headers without Cats? I only have experience with catted longtubes on my Camaro. Mostly wondering what's the difference in sound and smell.
Sound will be slightly louder, but that's subjective based on what type of exhaust system you run. As with all cat-deletes you would expect a bit more of an odor from the exhaust gasses.
See my comments in red. I replied to your PM as well.
