2009 5.7L 146,022 miles. Exhaust manifold studs, about to replace broken ones for the 3rd time. Fuel pump replaced at about 95,000 miles. Sparkplugs twice so far. Oil changes often, and on time, every time the reminder goes off on the dash. That's it. So far so good. I cannot complain. I am considering installing new injectors. Not sure. Fuel economy is now at about 15 MPG. Running studded 20" winter tires recently on a 400 mile trip.

Here is a question for all you guys with over 50K or more. What octane gas do you normally use? I know what the manual recommends and is "Ok" to run but it would be nice to hear what you high mileage guys use.

Since I bought the truck with high mileage, I can't say as yet. My usual procedure with any new vehicle is to go with the recommended fuel for a while as a baseline - usually 5-6 tanks, keeping track of mpg and noting any performance issues. Then I try 5-6 tanks of the other grades keeping track of the same things.

I haven't run through 5 tanks of mid yet (recommended for the 5.7), but I'll go to regular next, then super and see what happens. So far, my mixed driving is right around 16. Not bad for a big truck. I'm considering mods that may help that number.
