I have just over 20,000 on my 2WD 3.6L Pentastar I bought brand new last November and it has been rock solid with not a single issue.

Is the 2013 the 3.6l?

I have 1700 miles on my 2017, bought it Sept 2.
I've seen complaints about the MDS but I have no problem with it. The way I see it, I didn't buy my truck for good gas mileage but if I get it while cruising, that gives me extra "Stomp on it's" for free:favorites13:

yeah this is a 3.6l my 2014 5.7 got 23 on the highway on average, that truck had MDS and i never saw any complaints on the MDS system on any truck ive owned with it, other than an annoying exhaust tone

At least there's a fix for that exhaust tone, just press on the gas pedal and the tone get much better.

I have a complaint about the MDS! The MDS solenoids go bad and you have to remove the intake manifold to get to them. What a pain! I wish it could be turned off without engaging tow/haul. I have a stupid CEL on for MDS solenoid cylinder 6 that I would love to disappear from the dash.

I think you can have them tuned out of the system

I'd get a tuner just for that if possible. But, would it also prevent the PCM from checking and tripping the light?

with a tuner you can tell the PCM what to throw a check engine light for, a friend of mine got a bad tune and his tuner turned off the entire check engine light system to cover his crappy tune, so his truck wouldnt throw a CEL for anything...

but a good tuner should be able to make you a tune that shuts down the MDS system and stops the CEL from showing

i wonder if you can put the PCM from a 2500 on the truck, the 2500s dont get the MDS crap and wouldnt even look or start the mds system

If I would replace the bad solenoid, I'd surely replace all four at the same time since it's a real PIA job (especially on a Durango with half the engine behind the firewall). For that cost and effort, a tuner would be a great value for me.

What's the best, cheapest one that would do the trick? (2007 Durango NightRunner 5.7)?

im not sure on the tuner, you would have to talk to the performance guys about that one, im sure one of them know the best tuner for what you need

I just got my new '17 Standard cab short bed 5.7 Wednesday Oct 25 (4 days ago). I have just over 200 miles so far. First mod is tomorrow - tinting all the windows - hey, I live in the south, that's a big deal!

I've joined here and have been reading up. Probably 2/4 lowering kit is next.

4x2; I don't need 4x4 for winter driving and don't hunt or fish. I was mainly looking for a small WB platform as a basis for hot rod of sorts and this is a good starting point. End of yr sales incentives helped the bottom line!

I had a '05 Magnum R/T 5.7 that I really liked, but traded it a few yr back as it was needing some extensive maintenance and didn't want to put the money into it as it was well over 100K miles at that point.

My Ram is the Tradesman level, so manual windows, locks, and mirrors. No big deal to me esp with the standard cab, and I love the sound of that Hemi. Still getting used to the dial shifter. No plans for much performance orientated (like a tune) until warranty is over, but looking at other bits to add when the budget allows.

I have 103,500 (and counting) on my 2013. Only mods are: leveling kit with factory sized Cooper Adventurers, Mopar Intake, Mopar Exhaust. Love it!
