Thats some thick stuff!

If I was going to R&R every year, I probably wouldnt bother with the AR. With wheel well liners at all 4 wheels, Id bet one application of AR (or even just plain FF) would last longer than a year anyway. The one spot I worry about (wheel well above the actual wheel well) I cant physically reach, so I wouldn't be able to apply AR there, unless its possible to get it liquid somehow and spray it before it dries.

I did like your idea about sandwiching some between the wheel well liner and the body of the truck. I might use that next year myself.

Once you see how much dirt is packed inside of those wheel wells you’re going to want to clean them on over year regardless. Regular fluid film does not last all winter in that high spray area. I also apply it on the OUTSIDE of the lip were you see the linner screws.

I know. It looks crappy but i dont care. It wont EVER rust and im more of a function over form kind of guy anyway.

Nice @U&A I'm definitely getting some of that. Looks better than grease for it's staying power...

I just did this a few weeks ago and it's really shocking how much dirt collects in the lip where the liners sit in just one year...

Inside tailgate after a summer of wood gathering.

Imagine what this would look like if neglected for a few years.

I just went over my truck the other day to touch it up before winter.. Most of the FF sprayed above the wheel liners was still there as if I put it on yesterday. Even under the truck was still pretty greasy with the usual dirt stuck to it.
I didn't totally cover it last year, just did the seams and mating parts where I thought water and salt would collect.

I didnt check myself, but I kinda figured any oil sprayed in/on the "wheel well within the wheel well" would probably survive longer than a year, simple because of the rear wheel well liners that come on the 4th gens. Such a minor, overlooked feature that can save a lot of heartache down the road.

Not to mention on light colored trucks the wheel wells look a whole lot better with the black liner in it. I saw a white GMC with its high hip line square wheel wells in WHITE and your eye was drawn to inside the wheel well more than any other part of the truck. Ugly.

Did the truck today. 1 gallon exactly every time for the undercarriage. Heated in an aluminum pot to about 100 degrees. The griddle is set on 200 but the fluid never gets that hot. It hardly even reaches 100.

I stir it up with a 1” paddle bit on my drill. If you plan on heating the fluid film in a similar fashion note that it takes at least an hour to heat up. best to give it a good hour and a half and frequent stirring.

then I spray with my harbor freight electric sprayer with a .375” air line attached to suck the fluid up better when the gun is pointing up as you lay on your back. Have used this sprayer 4 times now. Works great

Note. Dont wait unto November in Michigan to wash, clay bar and iron/fallout removal on your truck

Griots fallout & Iron remover freezes almost as soon as you spray it on you truck when it is 41 degrees outside[emoji23]

I did all if the truck but the roof before dinner. Went back out to finish and the roof was last. Didnt go so well[emoji23].

Took a while to rinse off the frozen griots [emoji1787]

Today I applied Fluid Film AR to the wheel well lips and rocker pinch welds. Man that stuff is THICK. Much thicker and stickier than regular grease which is what I had been using. I basically packed it in like you would pack a bearing between the fender lip and the plastic liner.

Highly recommend FF AR. Thanks @U&A for bringing this up a while back!

Here ya go Cory,

Anyone looking for replacement rubber plugs that go along the bottom of your rockers, these should fit half tons three-quarter and 1 tons. I have not tried them yet but I will later tonight to confirm

Perfect fit Cory. And this is what your rockers are going to look like if you put a thin layer of fluid filled AR on them. Dirty as crap! [emoji23]. Thats after 2 years

But i dont care. They will be rust free forever

Definitely ordering some of those. A few of mine are getting a little beat up from being taken out every year.

Exactly!! I'd rather have my rockers dirty than rotted out rockers...

I've never had a rusting issue in 4ea southern states I've lived in , so I've never rust proofed any of my vehicles .

Got a question about road salt .

I've seen them slinging salt granuals here in N.E. Tn. in the past on the highways and interstates , but in town ( Bristol ) they put out a white liquid the day before the snow hits ....what is this stuff ?

That's a brine they spray on the roads that's sticky and is supposed to stay on the roads to keep them clear. It's actually much worse than rock salt because it sticks to the undercarriage...

That stuff is a brine solution, actually way worse than salt. It sticks to your frame like toothpaste and is water activated. Something like 7 times more corrosive than just salt.

It isn't only for rust. If you have an older truck ======= spray it on rubber bushings - it will rejuvenate them.
