"flag on car 13. When the flag is displayed on a car, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender."
Other info: http://www.usflag.org/flagetiquette.html
Ok I want to explain myself without putting anyone down or ******* people off, this is just one of my pet peeves and this is why I'm even saying anything. I probably wouldn't even know about it had I not been a Boy Scout and forced to read this a few times. The info and "rules" about flag etiquette in these websites can be found all over, maybe just worded a little different.
Ok, so with that being said, as a patriotic American there are a few things we all just do and/or know about: you salute the Flag with your right hand over your heart while standing facing it, you stand at attention, hat off, quite during the National anthem, you don't let the flag touch the ground, right? You do all this because you learned it somewhere, you get a little irked if you seen someone not doing these things....but you are going to jail if you violate them, it's etiquette, not law. Well displaying the flag on a vehicle is no different, there is etiquette about how it should, must be done. Another common violation that bugs me is displaying the flag on a sports uniform. The flag is a symbol of national pride, service and like it or not, warfare. It is not to be worn on the uniform of the NFL or the likes, representing over paid assholes, and advertising. The flag can only be worn by police, fire, or military.
So with that info that I have presented, do with it as you please, just know that those of us that know the etiquette, look at you just like you look at someone sitting down, talking, wearing their hat with a dirty, upside down flag on it, during the Pledge.
