hey guys - just picked up a 2012 Ram Sport with NAV, leather and the 3.92 gear.
truck is absolutely phenominal - i bought it Christmas Eve.
drove it on a 3 hour road trip yesterday to take the kids on "The Polar Express" train ride to the north pole and it got 16.9mpg.
today i went and got a welded in Flowmaster 40.
sounds great on the outside but it's nice and quiet on the inside - doesn't even sound like there is an exhaust on it, which is great.
ok, lets get down to the nitty gritty - it's a 4x2
my plans are for a small 4" - 5" lift and some 35" Mickey Thompsons - nothing too crazy, nothing too high and nothing that looks like it should be in a magazine HAHA !!!!
i live in Houston and i do alot of highway driving - 42 miles a day to and from work.
truck won't ever see any offroading or any bayous or any sand traps in Galveston or anything like that.
i've loved the look of lifted trucks since i was 15 or 16 years old - 15 years later i FINALLY own my first truck.
i tried to gauge what the "general consensus" is on lifting a 4x2, but it appears as if its more accepted than it was back in the early 2000's HAHAHA !!!
i've ALWAYS had to have a fast car so a "slow truck" was never in the conversation while looking for vehicles.
.....but now with the new auto 6-speed and 3.92 gear spinning the 5.7 HEMI, this truck is NOT slow by any stretch of the imagination.
it's very enjoyable and has quite the passing gear
just thought i'd kind of introduce myself - i'll be lurking (*******) around on the forums to soak up as much information as possible.
p.s.
my "other car" (wife's car) is a 2011 Inaugural Edition 392 Challenger
we traded in my old 2006 SRT8300C for it.
