All right, finally got the tow hooks on! Probably the hardest part was getting the plastic panel back in. Word of advice, if you remove it, put it back in before you mount the hooks!

Looks awesome! Nice red finish. Would you be able to get a recovery rope/chain in there? I realized you said you didn't off-road tons but just in case something happens

I ended up finding a local shop that was able to produce a set of brackets for me for a reasonable price. Very happy with the results. Thanks everybody for all of your input in this thread.

I don't think a chain would fit, but the looped end of a nylon type recovery strap should.

Nice! How much did "a reasonable price" turn out to be?

A little over 100 bucks is what I paid. Shopped around and most machine shops were coming in over 200.

@kad can you please tell me how much your brackets differ from the drawing that Ken? posted earlier in the thread?

I have the angle and I’m about to start fabbing up a pair of brkts for my 2017.

If you plan to post your final version in this thread then I apologize for the question.

Thank you for your work on this project. Nice Job!

They do differ a fair amount. The upper hole locations are a little different and the lower ones are substantially different. I'm still working on getting them into a state suitable to publish, but I do plan on doing so.

For those who wanted to know if there was room to get a tow strap on: Yes, yes there is. It's a bit of a tight fit to get it past the end and I'm planning on adjusting the bracket ever so slightly to make it easier before I post the plans.

Awesome! I'm sure I can speak for many of us that appreciate all the work and testing you're doing on this and willingness to share what you've found with everyone.
Its stuff like this that make this forum so great.

Thank you sir! I’ll hold off until I see what you publish.

Two more questions please: Did you find the .550 width of the hook mounting slots to be the correct dimension?
Do the factory studs seem to press in correctly at the .550 width?

Thank you.

I used a 9/16", which is actually .5625" and had no issues, they fit nicely. But you don't remove the studs from the fastening plate, the plate with the two studs goes on top of the bracket, then the hook goes under the bracket with the two studs going through it, secured with the two nuts, the same as with the factory brackets.

Would these fit mt 17' SLT? Thanks in advance.
They are for any 13+ RAM 1500 with a plastic painted bumper. Post a picture of your bumper to be sure...

If it's an SLT you probably have a steel front bumper, meaning you would just use the stock tow hook brackets
