Good morning everyone,

I recently purchased a 2016 1500 5.7L Rebel. I am trying to solicite information on everyones opinion on which K&N Intake to run on this thing, or a different one that would be better. I am looking at either the 77-1561KP Air Intake Kit adds 10.3HP @ 4382 RPMs or the 71-1561 Blackhawk Kit which adds 7.17 HP @ 4643 RPMs. To me those numbers should be a little closer, but then again I don't know much about the two different intakes. Any and all information provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

intake opinions are like talking oil, politics, religion and sex with your parents, well not exactly like the last one. I have ever only put one intake on any of my toys and the reason is for the money to horsepower gain and I will use that lightly its not worth it to me. 7hp on 400 will not be felt and if someone says they can feel it well I have some great bridges that are lightly used for sale. Now if I take that 7hp and apply it to the toys with 500-1000hp well you see were it's a waste of good greenbacks.

Vararam built for your truck
K&N? they use the same dyno sheet for every application, Comes with a cool sticker, and it seems one PN fits MANY different makes and models.

If your adding an intake as part of a build then it will compiment say, a cat back and a tune.

I bought the vararam casue its cool. It does add some power, buy being less restrictive. I absoulutely doubt the thirty hp they claim, and they computed that by running a truck in the 1/4 mile with and without and the differnece was .3 supposedly = 30 hp

The finnish on mine was lousy, I had to do alot of work to make it fit, but in the end I am happy with it.

Adding just a CAI dont expect a whole lot of seat of the pants, but combining it ( now or later) with other bolt ons/ tune will work well.

Plan was to start with CAI then work my way to the Exhaust, but the CAI was just going to be the start of the project.

K&N is a big name, but I would go with the S&B intake myself. The build quality, fitment, and performance are better with the S&B, and the price is about the same. Its also a good bit quieter than K&N. The S&B is louder than stock, but not obnoxious like the K&N IMO.

I'm happy with my K&N CAI but I was not happy with the fit and finish when installing it. I would go with a different kit next time.

Intake wont help a stock vehicle. Add long tubes, a tune, and throttle body then throw on an intake if you are looking for power. An intake will help once you have some mods.

If you just want one to want one, get it.

Remove old intake...transfer air sensor from old intake to new...put breather (included) on oil fill... Trim radiator shroud or just remove... Total install 15min... Super easy!!!
