Is a K&N that much better than the stock intake? Just seems like I'd be taking out a perfectly fine intake to replace it with a new one.

I have the the S&B intake. I do not notice any actual Hp gain but I did get more engine noise. Honestly, the CPU will control your intake. You will need a tune before you see any real gains. If you are the guy ( like me) who always adds an intake then do it; but if your looking at it for gains... save your money.

I have a K&N 63 series. It's sounds cool and the only difference I can feel is at 4500+ RPM. It feels like my truck isn't out of breath near red line. It could just be in my head though.

I've had K&N's on my last 3-4 vehicles. I decided upon the S&B this time. Again...probably no real HP gains...but it looks great and does seem to open up above 3K RPM's. Sound great too!
