So I placed my order on the last day to order a 2012 (May 31) and its still not getting built yet ! Salesman said most of his orders have taken 4-6 weeks and is surprised its not done. It's a black Laramie Longhorn. I wonder if mine is gonna be the last 2012 to roll off the line in Michigan.

I would have loved to do a special order and build it to my taste but I'm too impatient! That's why I'm trading in my '06 5.9 on a 2012 6.7 that's sitting on the lot already! Fortunately it has the basics of what I want, manual trans and transfer case which was what sold me on it. Call me old school but after wrenching for 20 years I don't want to rely on electronics for everything ha ha!

KootneyCat, I'm a computer tech and I'd take a manual TransferCase and Manual transmission any day of the week. Less crap to fail, when you aren't near a computer you need to unf*ck it.

Does seem like a long wait to beginning the build. I ordered mine 4/28/2012 and it was delivered 6/8/2012... of course, that was from the plant in Mexico.

Heck, I didnt't even know they offered a manual trans in 1500 let alone transfer case! I would have liked the manual transfer case...... I ordered mine, guess I could have got it.

They only offer a manual trans for the V-6s in the 1500, and with both motors in the HD trucks (but only in the lower trim levels?)

why not get a 13

The 13s aren't that different, especially in the first half of the year for the Hemis. Also wouldn't want to be the Guinea Pig on the new stuff they are putting on. Also wouldn't be here til Sept/Oct at the earliest.

The wait is killing me. So anxious reading about all the mods here.
I've got a pile in the garage already waiting. 18" Mufflex, JJs Projector HIDs, Rain deflectors, mud flaps, Bilsteins, Rambox divider kit. I'm about to order a Bakflip Fibermax. Crazy.....

It's coming with the Laramie Chrome Clads, but I found a set of the optional Aluminum Laramie Rims on Ebay (that were no longer an option when I pulled the trigger). So I'll have a brand spankin new set of Laramie Chrome Clads with tires for sale if all works out....

lol, I should have checked before I opened my big mouth. It sucks that they are phasing out manuals. It seems like each generation they take a little more.

Does that make the HD CTD the only truck from 'merica that has a manual? Jeeze, this sucks...

Yep - CTD is the only American truck with available manual transmission. It's very sad considering many of the guys I know would prefer a manual, although they're not where the big $$$ is for Dodge.

My buddy ordered a Mustang at the beginning of the model year and ended up getting it 9 months later. Not saying that's how it always works on orders, but I'm certain the wait for a '12 would be much shorter considering the timing.
