Does anyone have a technical service bulletin for a leaking third break light in a 2016 Dodge ram laramie ? The one I found is for trucks build after 2019!

Super easy dyi fix.

The issue with oem is they use the same gasket, flat polished and it will leak again. Fix it yourself once, will stay fixed, follow the directions in that thread. md seal

You see the issue here, the oem gasket is sad, the mullti channel md you can see that puppy aint gonna leak again, ever.

Owners have fixed it. Internet forums solve the issue...Ram keeps producing leaky gaskets....Kina like those lifters that have been failing since 2003. And Ram wonders why their customers are unhappy......

I replaced mine (2014) after reading about it on here, not long after I bought the truck. Well, after about 9 years, I had to replace the gasket again. I had a leak this past fall with my replacement gasket. Went and pulled the package of that I used 9 years ago, applied a new seal around the light and all is good again for another 9 years (hopefully).

SO... I say that to issue a PSA for all of us that have replaced the gasket - depending on how long it's been and your weather patterns, you might want to check your gaskets again just to make sure all is good.

If you buy a new OEM brake lamp assembly, it comes with a gasket attached.

Based upon the part number suffix’s - the part has been updated or revised numerous times.

I replaced mine with a new assembly several years ago (instead of adding gasket material) - and have had no leaks.

Here's similar video on how to fix the 3rd brake light leak - same gasket as above mentioned. Video is from 7 years ago, but seems to be the fix for this issue. I have done this, and no more leaks for me.

Ram Truck 3rd Brake light leak fix

Update: Here's a link to the gasket itself - Gasket on Amazon $8.80 in USA, probably more in Canada but still a small price to pay for keeping your Ram Truck dry longer.

Just fixed mine in the driveway. 2008 1500 original gasket. Had only one leak about the size of a pencil point, but with Florida rain showers that’s enough for a problem. 16 years is not bad for gasket life in the sun here. Used the MD gasket roll and it took about 15 minutes, easy peezy. Thanks for the instructions and pictures.
