I tell you all I am really torn. I want to lift my 2018 1500 and run 35x12.5r22's. But man that additional cost for doing a 4" lift vs just doing a leveling kit and running 33x12.5r20's is brutal. Anyone out there maybe do the leveling kit and then later on decided to up their game to a 4" suspension? How'd the ride change? Feel it was worth it for the extra clearance? Just not sure what to do...

Eibach pro kit. Running 3” front and 1” rear. 305/70r18 on 18x9 with -12 offset. No rubbing whatsoever but have to have caster set about 3.5° or it’ll rub on the back of the tire inside the fender. I’m running just about 4.3° caster. Planning on pulling it down to 4° next alignment but I’m running an off-road bumper currently so I have space to push the tires farther forward.

I started with Bil 5100’s to level at 2.1”... Saved up, bought the lift, bought wheels, and bought 35” tires ... Then I used the Bils with the Zone 4”F/3”R and set them at 1.4” ... Perfect lift for me

You can start with a small 2" front lift to level then go up if you want more as needed.

that’s what I did. Bilstein 5100s set at 2.8 with a 3/4” rear spring spacer, then a 1.5” Zone body lift. I need more tire to fit my elevation, and I want a true 4” lift as well.

My '16 has stock size 275/60-20 which is basically an 11 x 33" on 20x9 rim. I'm thinking about lifting the front no more then 1.5-2". Wheelwells on these trucks are fairly large.

Bils at 2.8, 1.5 rear spacer, zone body lift- the results: riding on 35x12.5r20

If this helps at all brother, I have a 2” LVL on the front of mine with the 1.5” zone body lift and I clear 35’s just fine.

You have to factor into the price of a lift includes a lot more than just let’s say some spacers or adjustable struts like like Bilstein. Some 4” lift kits might have you doing some cutting to drop the front differential down to get the CV angles right. Also a leveling kit can be removed to go back into factory stock height if you wanted to Upgrade to the same platform but newer model “most times”

can’t ask me about leveling kits to lifts. I went from a leveled 1/2 ton “cough cough Ford” to a leveled 3/4 ram so I went w a different platform.

If your goal is to just run 35's, do some careful measuring. You can put on 33" tires with no leveling or lift. With a 2" front level, you might be able to get the 35's to fit. Work with your tire dealer, they might order both a set of 33's and 35's, and you can check fit. My dealer did it for me.
