NY is the same. However there is a work around. If the vehicle does not have different O2 sensors for CA emission vehicle then it will not have any effect changing out the Cats, particularly as there is no "sniff" test done they just hook up to you computer to test your emissions. There for as long as the PCs happy, and when visually inspected the Cats are in place, then you are fine. CATS are federally required. Not sure where you're located but check your local emissions laws about cats. Here in the communist state of MA you have to have either OEM cats or a CARB certified cats. Which means no LTs here[emoji35]
The problem will be ordering them to our home.....You may have to ship them to an uncle and then have him ship them to you.
By the way NY not only requires CARB compliant, but aftermarket cats have to meet "Use of an EPA certified new aftermarket catalytic converter is still permitted on federally certified (not CARB or 50 state) and pre-1993 model year vehicles. Distribution centers located in New York State may continue to supply EPA certified aftermarket catalytic converters for applicable NYS vehicles and for sale outside of New York State."
