so I know long tubes delete the cats and that's illegal in texas but if I know a guy who will pass me...?

I know with the cat delete codes get thrown, isn't there a fix for this? I was trying to remember it the other day but just can't remember.

I don't think there is a way around it because you won't pass a visual inspection. Better move to a stat that don't care like Iowa :D

Farming states seem to care less because of tractors etc.

I've never had a truck visually inspected. As long as its not throwing an CELs and everything is stated as "ready" they don't care.

Well, if he's in Texas, like me, then he shouldn't get a visual.

hmm yeah that sounds like what I need. I apparently have a short in my wiring that runs from the computer to the o2 sensor harness. guess I'll have to get that figured out before trying to get rid of the cat. *sigh*

318 or 5.2 which ever you want
Long tube headers just mean you have to move cat. You could still use one if you wanted and the sensor. This means you need to put the cat as close to headers as you can, and use header wrap or ceramic header coating to keep heat in pipes.
But in Missouri it dose go by county because I live in Franklin with emmissions and just 2 miles away in Warren they only have safty.

maybe its based off county...in Houston I kept failing inspection because of my 02 sensors?

If your O2 sensors are not ready, or are malfunctioning, you will fail the test. That is through the OBDII port though. Which is computer related only. If you have an emissions check, they toss a tester on your tailpipe and check it like that, and then visually inspect it.
