LR Solenoid p0750 code after hitting pothole

Looking for help. I hit a deep road cutout and check engine light come on. Truck went to limp/fail safe mode. Scan shows LR solenoid p0750. I know this error has been discussed but my question is .. can I check anything else before buying a $400 part and opening my trans up. I’ve had no issues until I hit that hole and now I can’t get out of limp mode.
I’ve reset the code but it comes back immediately.
