Every now and then I spray it off, top and bottom, during the winter with just a pressure washer. Then once the snow melts, i run it through a car wash and spend a lot of time on the undercarriage blaster. Then once it rains a few times to get all the salt off the roads, I take it through the car wash once or twice doing the same thing. Then I wash it a couple times during the summer by hand and then I spray every thing I can with a pressure washer. That's it really. No treatments or anything

that might explain why my truck pretty much looks about the same on the outside as it did when i got it. i would usually wash it a couple times each winter. i know i got friends with newer trucks than mine that are starting to look like crap. i would guess they don't wash their trucks much in the winter.

Thats really good to know. That truck looks immaculate! I don't have a pressure washer but I do wash my vehicles as much as I can during the winter months especially the undercarriage. Then every spring I put it up on ramps and rinse everything I can get to. Wasn't sure if it was actually doing anything besides get me soaked and making my fingers numb. But after seeing your DD truck I'm glad I do it!

Started restoring the 16" wheels to replace the obsolete 16.5" wheels.

Just barely fits in my SnapOn blasting cabinet

Yes they will. It's a fairly common thing to do. There aren't many tire options left for 16.5" wheels, and they are more expensive. So these will open up my tire options.

Will they clear the brakes though? If not then its a waste.
Yep. Even with my bigass brakes I've got on mine they clear just fine and dandy. Even my 2nd gen 16s clear fine.
Cool then. I upgraded to 2nd gen 17's

You have 3rd gen wheels. 2nd gens were 16s.

Nice job on the wheels, Diesel, but the painted picture isn't showing up for me over here.
Curious though, do your wheels have the Ford stamping on them like mine do? I was kinda irritated when I saw that until I found out that the stockers were 16.5s. lol

The picture seems to work fine for me so I'm not sure what's up. Yea they have the small Ford emblem near the center of the wheel but that's it. It will definitely be nice to have 16s for what I'm planning.

You uploading from FB? I seem to have been having a problem with pictures that are ripped off FB for some reason. I can quote the post, pull the URL, then I can see them. It's weird.

Yep, same place as mine. lol

16s are nice. So are 245s on a 2WD. This truck lost about 15lbs per wheel going from Ford steelies and 265s to Dodge styled steelies and 245s. lol

Yeah they're from my facebook page. It's just easier for me to upload them that way.

Well I'm going to be gaining weight going to 33x10.50 haha

Thanks! They are definitely nice to have for the smaller pieces that you can fit in there. Wheels are about as big as I can go and still have space inside to move my hands around

Well since the last update I've bought a couple parts for the one ton. The truck came from the factory without a rear bumper, so right now it doesn't have any license plate lights. In south west Minnesota, they'll pull you over right quick for not having license plate lights. So I bought a pair of NOS lights off of eBay for the truck. I also bought some new window crank handles since one was missing. But since the truck is sitting in cold storage right now, I've been working on other things. My 1966 Bel Air has been sitting for 3 years on the back burner after I pulled the radiator out of it. I finally put it back together with a new Griffin aluminum radiator last weekend. If you are interested, here's a video of the start after installing the new radiator. Now I just need some warmer weather to get my vehicles out and drive them.

One of my window cranks was missing the back knob, so I was looking on eBay for a set. So I found a set of the remanufactured ones that look like this

$_57.jpg

But they didn't fit the truck at all, even though it says they are for this truck.
So I went to my local dealership and they found a single pair of mopar window cranks left at a dealership out in Pennsylvania. I just picked them up today, and they were spendy but worth it. The sticker says that they were delivered to that dealership back in 1993. Small update but it's something.
