a RV cam would work pretty good in a fairly stock engine. you can get a cam/lifters kit from summit for about $120.

That sounds like exactly what I need. I'm not wanting to built it to race just peep it up a little so that's probably what I will do

ya. that is one of the things i always recommend. it is a cheap upgrade that will give your truck a bit more attitude but not going too crazy. i got a similar cam for my truck. i just haven't installed it yet.

It's been awhile but installed my drop shackles to level the back out and the new front shocks came in

1.7 rockers really wake up the small blocks... not too sure about the la blocks, but as far as the magnums go you have to be careful if you do a cam and 1.7 rockers... anymore lift/duration and they'll be into the pistons.

magnums and LA engines are a bit different. a cam for a magnum engine usually cost the same as the 1.7 rockers but the rockers are a lot easier to install so that is what people do. i don't think anyone usually runs the 1.7 rockers with a cam. plus i don't even thing they make 1.7 rockers for la engines. i have seen 1.6 rockers but they are about $600/set. i am pretty sure you could get whatever cam you wanted for that $600
