I read about 3.21's all the time but as a mall crawler what is the biggest tire size I can push? Not too worried about power or gas mileage. Just what a Ram 1500 with 3.21 gears can manage. Just be straight.

If you have the 8 speed you'd fine on 35s imo [emoji1303]

If you have the 8spd your limit may just be mall parking lot clearance heights.

Try to keep it at 35” and look for a lightweight tire, 60lbs or less no more than 65lbs if you can. Same as wheels, watch the weight if you can. Driving around town won’t effect you much if any, but highway driving will be noticeable.

i have 321 and 8 speed with a 4" lift and 35x12.5 duratracs. handles fine. it could be quicker and more power would be great. but for a daily its great. i hate the factory programming for shift points so i manually shift it 90% of the time. makes a huge difference. these trucks shift waaaayyy to early and lug to much stock. even more noticeable with 321 and 8 speed. i have had very limited highway driving, but when i did it was fine. just be sure to get a road force balance and a good alignment.

i was one who drove in TH. helped a little. still short shifts. loved how it down shifted when slowing down. over the last couple weeks i switched back to not using th. for whatever reason my truck now feels to "operate" much more freely. hard to explain. i still manually shift it. i enjoy that. im more of a roll into the throttle driver. and for some reason that gives the trans enough time to shift right away (into 3rd at 20, 4th at 30 etc). i now shift to keep rpms 2k and up. right where the powerband kicks in. no more bogging/lagging.

I have 3.21's, the 8 speed, and 35" x 12.5" Nitto Ridge Grappler's. Sure you can notice a difference... but I can still burn some rubber taking off and I can cruise on the highway just fine. I just got back from a road trip and I cruised anywhere from 75-85 the whole way with no problems. I even got on it a bit to pass some slower traffic and when I looked down I was like oh **** I'm hitting a 100... couldn't even tell it was just smooth and easy. I do run tow haul mode around town as I like the way it shifts better and turn it off on the highway. I don't feel that it's necessary at all to run in tow haul around town, just my preference.
