on the left side of the dash, where the dash meets the door, there is a removable panel (on the 3rd generation RAM thats where the fuses were). on the 4th Gen there is an intermediate 16 pin connector (that is sparsley populated). Anyone know where I can get the pinout of this connector. Is there a connector identification number in the wiring diagram. I found 2 grounds, and one connection for the dome light. but there are lots of other unused pins on the dash side. the red one should be 12 V, right?? No such luck

Thanks for the info. I am rewiring the connector from a 2012 headliner (chassis) to a 2017 frame and wiring harness. Will purchase the 2017 service manual on DVD, once I got this beast on the road.

Is the connector on the 2012 or 2017? If it's the 2012, in pin 15 on the connector, my 2010 wiring diagram shows that going to the compass. I tried printing it to a pdf, but it didn't format that well, bit it is the compass

Its the 2012 headliner I was asking about, and the pin-out is the same as the 2010 you showed. So in the 2012, the compass is up in the headliner. Also, FYI there are 2 sets of CAN BUS wires in that connector, they basically just loop thru that connector (on the headliner side) this is good feature that the 2017 does not have. meaning, in the unlikely even that you have can bus issues, you could use this as an intermediate test point. (e.g., open it out and ohm out each side individually to determine where the OPEN or SHORT is located), you can use C237 as a diagnostic port in that case.

The 2017 also has the compas in the headliner, I will align the proper wires and see what happens. Thanks again for your help.
