Howdy folks, I know there are a ton of threads on exhaust systems out there but they mostly seem to be performance related.
My muffler has started to get a hole in it so I climbed underneath today to see what else might need replacing. Thankfully, I think I'm good with just getting a new muffler but thought I'd try a dual exhaust set up.
My current set up looks like a dual in single out configuration (sorry if I butchered that). I've got 1 pipe each coming off the headers with 1 of them thru the catalytic converter then into a Y pipe and the other header pipe goes straight into the Y pipe. From the Y it's single out to the muffler and single out the back of the muffler.
I'd like a reasonable estimate on a new setup from the cat back that becomes dual exhaust. Any ideas on what to expect for parts and labor? I've been told $600-$800 for a modest setup. Is that accurate?
I just want something that fixes my muffler problem, sounds better than stock, isn't too loud and doesn't break my bank. I'm thinking $600 max. Is that too conservative?
Here are some picks of my current set up.
