2010 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L 145K miles.

Truck basically sounds like a jet when accelerating and I can feel the loss of power. It is throwing a code (P0455 evaporative system large leak) Open the hood and I notice that on the passenger side valve cover there is a hole that I believe something is supposed to go in there but I just don’t know what that could be. It has vacuum because when I cover it with my thumb it suctions. See the images attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like a burn hole. The valve cover isn't supposto have holes in it like that, there are no holes in the 4.7 valve covers, I'd start with that as you're getting crud and nasty stuff in your engine as it's intaking unfiltered air into the engine block.

The fan noise could be causeed by many things. Low airconditioning refrigerant, engine temp sensor tranny temp sensor. If you have access to a scanner id hook it up and check the temps.
