So I am about to purchase the MaxTrac 7" Lift Kit with Fox 2.0 Shocks for my 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 2wd Regular Cab.

I'm now looking for a shop to install it for me. One local shop I called had said they had not heard of MaxTrac before. Hmm....

I need to know the following:

Will my 22" SRT10 22x10 rims with 285/45/R20 tires work with this lift kit? Or will I need spacers?

I only plan to run the srt10 rims for about a month until I save up enough to buy a set of Moto Metal or Fuel wheels with some 35x12.50 tires, as i can't afford to do it all at once.

Is it worth it to pay the extra $300-$400 foe the Fox 2.0 Shocks over the MaxTrac shocks in the $1,100 kit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've never done a lift kit before, this is my first time and I'm just now learning the ins and outs about them. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Curious to see what others say. I just did the 2.5” springs and MaxTrac shocks (half of your 7” kit). When I called MaxTrac directly, I asked about Fox shocks. Rep said they are better but if I didn’t go off-road, which I really don’t do, he said I wouldn’t appreciate or feel the difference. So I just stayed with standard shocks. That said, if I decide to upgrade at a later date, shocks are very easy to DIY. and MaxTrac doesn’t give much of a credit for their standard shocks. In other words, getting fix shocks later, wouldn’t really cost anymore aside from maybe install costs.

Do you happen to know the backspacing on those factory wheels? If it's 5.75" or less then they will work. If it's higher than 5.75" than you will hit the spindles with the wheels so just double check the backspacing and make sure

I don't know it for sure but I used a backspacing calculator online (takes width and offset and finds backspacing.) And it told me it was 6.50. The kit says I need to be at 5.50 or lower.

Gotcha yeah it actually is 5.75" or less. A 6.5" backspacing will hit the spindles so you will need wheel adapters up front for that to work

Stick with the regular shocks, they are awesome, don't see the need to upgrade to Fox, IMHO.
