Hey everyone it’s been a while. I just ordered new wheels for my 2008 Ram 1500 2wd. I had factory 20s, Ordered a set of XD778’s, 20x10 which has -12mm offset. Got a sweet deal on them ($600 brand new for the set), got to thinking afterwards - how much will they rub? Let me know if it’s necessary to level - from what I’m reading it is. Thanks in advance. Tire size will remain at 275/60R20.

Ok an update post. The wheels came in, and they do not fit. Company measured wrong. So I am looking at a set of 20x9’s so I can keep my stock tires, and found a set of wheels I like but they are -12 offset. I have read up on how miserable it is to level an 08 1500 2wd. Does anyone run a 20x9 with a -12 offset with 275/60r20 with no rubbing? Let me know! Thanks

I dont know about the offset rubbing part, but if the suspension is anything like my 2006 1500 its is not hard at all. The leveling spacer goes in between the spring and is not too hard with a little mechanical knowledge

My concern isn’t getting the level in, it is how it rides afterwards. I have read nothing but issues on the 06-08 1500’s leveled from the control arm hitting every time you go over a bump

I have a 2.5" leveling kit installed, and have never once heard anything hit at all.

I have the 2inch rough country spacer leveling kit and love it. When I was installing it I realized my 2004 needed some more suspension work then I was expecting so I installed new upper control arms with ball joints, lower ball points, inner and outer tie rods and new front shocks. These were all direct stock replacements minus the shocks which I got longer for a two inch lift just so I didnt bottom them out. Everything works great after an alignment was done. Not rough at all, no performance issues when out in the desert messing around, no highway shake or anything, no complaints at all. Was an easy install did it myself in the garage in a few hours. You dont need new brake lines like some people say on them being too short. I would highly recommend rough country for the leveling kit. Makes the truck sit even and look a lot better. Running 285/17R/70s with plenty of room to go bigger.

Maybe a dump question but I thought 4x4 were leveled with the Torsion keys not a spacer? Can I put a spacer in my truck?

I have the same rims 20x10 -12 offset if your not leveled I would say to level once your leveled you may only have slight run at full lock and that’s a hell of a price you paid too

It was a good price but unfortunately came in and didn’t fit. They were a “scratch and dent” item but had no damage on them, but they listed the wrong bolt pattern so had to return them. Ended up with Ballistic Morax 20x9 0 offset instead so I didn’t have to level. I haul a lot of stuff in the bed and didn’t want the squatted look when hauling stuff. how long have you had them on, and any issues with the wheels cracking at the bolt holes?
