Newer Gas Caps

Have you guys seen newer Chryslers?

I got a Durango as a loaner and it did not have a gas cap, just a filler hole.

I am curious if anyone has retro fitted a Ram to have this filler.

My 2018 Chevy rental had the same thing, just a spring loaded flap door.

Many fords 2013 and newer do not have them either. I dont think you can just add it because it will have a different evap setup. I dont think my 2012 or 2013 Chrysler 300C had one, I know my 2013 Grand Cherokee Overland didnt either.

If I can add this to my 2014 Ram I would. I know its simple just unscrew a cap, but its just so dang easy.

My 15 Charger didnt either. You actually couldnt open the door without pressing the button that was on the inside drivers side door panel either. My truck is an upgrade in many ways to that Charger, but this was one feature I really miss.

Stant makes a screw on one call IN-STANT, but nothing listed for Rams on their website.

My wife’s 14 Charger is the same way, no gas cap and a button on the door panel to release the filler door, much better setup than on the gen4’s

Here in the Delta we have that fine sandy, powdery soil in a lot of areas. Great for melons, cotton and rice but hell on everything else. That powder makes it's way into every crack of a vehicle no matter how tight it is. I lived in the country on a gravel road as a kid and the thought of a fuel filler with no cap makes me twitch... even if that door is sealed. Ya'll can have that. I want a nice twist and tighten down, cap!

I have an 09' Ford that has no gas cap. I think that was Ford's first year. Also, my 13' Ram Diesel has no cap on the fuel or DEF filler neck.

My wife’s 12 charger didn’t and neither does her 17 rav4.
